World Cardmaking Day

Yesterday was World Cardmaking Day and I once again held a charity day to help raise money for the Chicks in Pink. We had a great day!! 16 fabulous ladies joined me and 2 of my downline- Sherri and Lucy to have a fun filled day of papercrafting!

We held the day in my classroom (I am a music teacher in a primary school when I am not being a SU demonstrator Smile ) which is really great as it is a big open room so we could set up stations for the ladies to complete their projects.

In the morning session we made four 3D projects….

We decorated a glass jar

Latest Creations

I have been busy making new cards with some of the new products from the new Stampin’ Up! catalogue.

bazaar flower

I just love the simplicity of this card. It uses the  International Bazaar DSP, the new fan embossing folder, Daydream Medallion and Itty Bitty Banners stamp sets and the new wooden buttons.

pumpkin duck

I love, love, love the set Storybook Friends and the duck is a particular favourite of mine. I have used the new Finishing Touches edgelit for the border, Perfect Pennants and the new Polka Parade DSP.

Birthday poppies

This card I made while on retreat a few weeks ago. The Pleasant Poppies set wasn’t one that I thought I would like but now that I have used it, it is definitely on my must buy list!

I hope you enjoy these cards. I hope to be back soon to show you more!

World Cardmaking Day

Every year on the first Saturday in October, I celebrate World Cardmaking Day with a charity event. It is a full on day of paper crafting and helping to raise some money for the Chicks in Pink. I am again holding a full day of fun and paper crafts on Saturday 6th October in the Music room at Victoria Point State School.

The day is divided into 2 sessions.

The first session (10am- 1pm)is dedicated to making 3D objects. I have lots of lovely projects planned and I know you are just going to have fun making them! Here’s a little sneak peak!

The second session is a 16 card Stamp-a-Stack where we will make 4 cards in 4 designs. Each card will be for a different occasion and you be able to replenish your card stocks.

The cost of the day is $50 for both sessions or $30 for one session and all profits from the day will go to the Chicks in Pink- a breast cancer support group. I am passionate about helping women with breast cancer in memory of my Mum.

There will be lots of lucky door prizes and a huge raffle of Stampin’ Up! goodies so I hope you will come and join me. Please let  me know by Wednesday 3rd October so I can ensure a place for you.

They are brimming with fabulous new stamps, accessories, papers and tools! And  of course, I want it all!! LOL

I have been very busy lately playing with all my new toys so I thought I would share with you some of my creations.

blue snowflakesilver snowflakesnowflake flower

These three cards were all created with using the new snowflake die which is found in the Holiday mini on page  14.

Now I am sure that you are looking at the flower at the end there and trying to work out how I did it! I have to say that I saw this flower on Mercedes blog and I knew I just had to give it a go! And I was really pleased with how it turned out!

If you  would like to see this die in real life or learn how to make these cards, contact me and we can organise a free in-home workshop for you and some of your friends.

I'm Saying Goodbye to My Retired Sets

Hi everyone...it is my annual sale on all of my retired stamp sets. As I’m a business demo and I work from a small room, I tend to sell everything that retires. A Wonderful Afternoon

Yesterday I had a workshop with some lovely ladies. The hostess had asked to make some projects using punches and dies, so I designed these 2 projects so that they could see the versatility of Stampin’ Up!’s dies and punches.

005

The Blushing Bride box is made using 2 milk carton dies that are trimmed and joined together. We then made some tulips using the 5 petal punch and the build-a-bird die and put them on Peach Parfait cardstock that had been run through the polka dot embossing folder.

The card me made used Wild Wasabi, Poppy Parade and Very Vanilla. The rose on the card is made using the build-a-owl punch, large scallop circle punch and 5 petal flower punch.

I look forward to having another creative day with the ladies again soon.

Cheers

Happy Birthday

In February, one of my nephews and one of my nieces have a birthday within a few weeks of each other. My nephew Cameron turned 15 and my niece Lauren turned 17 so I made them a card each using some of the new things I had purchased over the holidays.

006

For Cameron’s card I used the zebra out of Zoo Review. I stamped it in black and then used my blender pens to add some colour. I then tore some Basic Black strips to make the stripes for the background. I added a little bit of colour by matting it in Cajun Craze.

005

For my niece, I used the SAB paper, chipboard butterfly and tulip border embossing folder to create a vintage card. I sponged the edges with Crumb Cake to add to the aged look and finished it off with some Riding Hood Red ribbon that I ruffled.

I really loved how they they both turned out.

Pretty Roses

Firstly let me apologise for my absence of late. Life with a busy family seems to have taken over! I hope to have lots of projects to share with you over the next few days so stay tuned!

For the last 3 months I have been helping my friend Jan to make her wedding invitations and Bomboniere boxes. We had a great time spending time together creating the perfect look.

j&m

When the time for her wedding came, I made her a card and gift folder in the same colours. I used Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla with just a little hint of Pear Pizzazz. I have to say how happy I was with the finished product. I am a sucker for rolled roses and how they create a vintage feel to most projects…and they are quite therapeutic to make.

Year of Cards January

I know that I have been absent for a long time…life has got in the way it seems.

But I am back with my Year of Cards. So what is Year of Cards? Each month I will teach you how to make 4 cards around a theme.

So January’s theme was Ladies!

018019

And here they are! The four cards are really different but still really girly! Each uses a different technique and colour combination.

Let me know if you would like to join me for one of my classes each month…February is Male cards and March is EAster cards!!

Cheers
