Jimmy’s 5th Birthday

In July my son turned 5!! Where has that time gone???

Jimmy 5

This is the card I made for him…which he was quite pleased with! He loved the way the monkeys were doing a cartwheel. I used the monkey out of the Fox and Friends set and stamped it in More Mustard and Real Red. I crimped a strip of Tempting Turquoise to put behind the cartwheeling monkeys!

Close Up

On the Wednesday, when he went to Kindy, he celebrated his birthday again with all his kindy friends. I made mini cupcakes for him and then topped them with a cake tag!  The stamp is called Perfect Punches and is in the new catalogue!   The cakes looked lovely and were super easy to make!! And it meant I didn’t have to be super creative with the icing of the cakes!!

Embrace Life

I had another fantastic workshop today!! Hi Bec and the girls!! I demo-ed a scrapbook page, a pillow box and a card all using the Embrace Life set.

Embrace 6x6

This is the 6x6 scrapbook page. I sponged the flowers with Melon Mambo to give it subtle colour.

Embrace 12x12

And this is the 12x12 page that I made. It has the 6x6 page as a part of the layout!

Explosion Box

For my class this weekend we are making an Explosion Box. I had seen a tutorial for it at Splitcoast Stampers but found an alternative tutorial here at Connie and Mary’s Blog that I used for my box.  I have used Bella Rose DSP and cardstock in co-ordinating colours- Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette.

Scrapbox

Here is my box all put together. I am still thinking about adding some “words” to the outside of the box…but I am still contemplating what they will be.

Scrapbox2

For my box, I decided to add my own little touch of adding a belly-band to each of the inside layers. This is with the lid off and the outer layer down.

scrapbox3

This is with the second layer down. I added a cardstock and a DSP mat to the photos and another belly-band.

scrapbox4

This is the last layer down. As this is the smallest layer, I didn’t add any matting for my photos. I did put some words to describe my kids in the inside square.

So there you have it….my Explosion Box with a Chrissie twist!

Quiet Moments

I have been bit by the scrapbooking bug. I know I have soooo much to learn but I have completed another page.

the beach

The photo was taken while we were camping at Rainbow Beach. The kids and I were sitting on the beach just enjoying the beautiful weather when Kim snapped the moment. I used Pacific Point cardstock as my background colour and Kraft cardstock which I just tore into strips for my “sand”.  I used Melon Mambo for the writing as it picked up the colour in my daughter’s shirt!

It is a very simple layout but I really like it because it is simple!

Inspired by Nature

I have been playing around with the set Inspired by Nature this week. I really love this set and have used it heaps in the last few months. I decided I would make a scrapbook page, card and box as a set.

Inspired 12x12As you know, I am not really a scrapbooker, but I am really happy with how this turned out. I made the 6x6 page first and then turned it into a 12x12.

Inspired Card  Inspired Bookmark

This is a bookmark card. The bookmark is detachable from the card by using the perforating tool.

Inspired Box

And here is the pillow box I made to go along with it. As you can see, I even stamped the reeds onto the box.

Products Used:

Stamps: Inspired by Nature Cardstock: Whisper White, Soft Suede, Night of Navy, Riding Hood Red Inks: Whisper White, Soft Suede, Night of Navy, Riding Hood Red Accessories: Bird Punch, Horizontal Slot Punch,Soft Suede Ribbon, Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon, Clear Rhinestone Brad, Pillow Box Die, Alphabet Die, Big Shot, Rubons (Retired).

Thanks for looking! :)

Workshops in June

Last month I had a fantastic time doing 2 workshops for  Megan and Kerry!     Hi Girls!!!

I decided that I would do something similar for both workshops…but different enough to suit what both ladies had asked for.

I demo-ed for both workshops a scrapbook page. First a 6x6 and then how it could be stepped up to a 12x12.
