Kids Cards

I have had a run of kids cards lately so I thought I would share my creations.

This one was made for my DD first school birthday party she has been invited to. It was for a boy in her class named Jarrod and it was a pirate party. My devine upline Kim stamped me the images as I have yet to buy the set.
The colours: Old Olive, Ruby Red
The Stamps: Ahoy Matey
The Accessories: Small oval and large oval punch

I made this one for my neice Sarah. She shares a birthday with my DD. I used the retired set called Girlfriends. I just love this set as it is just so great for little girls. It is also the first time I have tried SU watercolour paper and I must say, I am in love. It made colouring, using the Soft Subtles watercolour crayons, so easy.
The colours: Barely Banana, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery
The Stamps: Girlfriends
Accessories: 1 3/8" circle punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, Scallop punch

I hope you all had a great weekend. Sadly it is nearly over and it is back to work all to soon. Pleased it is a short week and that our long Easter Weekend is not far away now.

Cheers,
Chrissie

A CASEing I Did Go....

Now I know that Sale-a-bration is over but I just LLLOOOOVVVVEE this set. It is called Friendship Blooms and there is just something about the large flower. And while I was over at SCS lookin at all the very creative people who share there, thse two cards really caught my attention.

I cased this idea from GilliHa at SCS (see here). I changed the colours and didn't use the brads like she did but definitely inspired by her creation. Thank you.
Colours: Taken with Teale, So Saffron, Regal Rose, Basic Black
Stamps: Friendship Blooms. Wonderful Words
Accessories: Cream Grossgrain Ribbon, Pewter Hodgepodge hardware

Cased this card from Pattilynn at SCS (see here). Again I changed the colours but the original design called to me! Thanks Pattilynn.
Colours: Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Ballet Blue. Whisper White
Stamps: Friendship Blooms
Accessories: Bluebird Grossgrain Ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds

Thanks for looking. Don't forget to leave a comment!
Cheers,
Chrissie

Life Taking Over

Hi Everyone... sorry I haven't posted in a while but life is taking over right now. We had to put my Dad into a nursing home this week. He has dementia and is no longer able to look after himself at home. It is a lovely place that is brand new- only 7 weeks old- and looks like a resort. He is not completely convinced that he should be there but it will be great for him. He will have people there to keep him company when we cannot be there and they will ensure that he eats well and takes his medication when needed.

This card I made ages and ages ago... so long in fact, I forgot I had made it! LOL I am sure I cased this from SCS but I cannot find where so if you recognise it please let me know. I love the simplicity of this card. I really should use my wheels more often.

Colours: Creamy Caramel and Whisper White.
Stamps: Leaf Prints Wheel, Wonderful Words
Accessories: Taupe Ribbon

Again I have cased this card but again I have no idea from who. (And I did go and try to search SCS for it, but there are 792 pictures in there of Bold Butterfly and I just can't find it!) I love the colour combination of this card. I usually use Soft Subtles for this stamp set but when I saw this, I knew I had to give it a try.

Colours: Summer Sun, Ruby Red, Black
Stamps: Bold Butterfly, Warm Regards

I hope that life settles soon and I can get back to posting more regularly.
Cheers,
Chrissie

Tagged!!! Again

Thanks Bron....
I have been tagged again. The rules of the game:
• Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
• Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself on your blog, we all want to know them.
• Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
• Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

So here goes.....
1. I am allergic to celery and rockmelon. Not sure why... didn't think there was too much in them but.... there you go!
2. I have been teaching for over 18 years.... the sad thing is- the kids I taught in my first year are old enough to have kids of their own I could teach! Aaaah...
3. For the past 11 years I have taught Music to primary school kids. The funny thing about that- I can't play a musical instrument (unless you count the recorder as a musical instrument)and it has never been a problem!
4. My desk is never tidy! Even when I put everything away... within minutes it is messy again
5. I love watching and reading anything about crimes- favourite shows are Numbers, Medium, Women's Murder Club; and Jeffery Deaver, Kathy Riechs, Ptricia Cornwall
6 I very rarely wear dresses and skirts- much to my daughter's disgust! I just feel more comfortable in pants!
7. The first thing I do in the morning is to put the kettle on to make a cup of tea. I cannot function until I have had that first cup!

Ok that is all the weird facts I can think of. Now I have to tag 7 more people. Not sure I know 7 more but here goes!
1. Rebecca
2. Diane
3. Nerine

Sorry that is it! Everyone else I know I tagged the last time! Hope that is ok!
Cheers,
Chrissie
