Notebooks

So I am on a roll with making kindy projects…I have just finished making 10 little notebooks and matching pencil.

I used a very retired Simply Scrappin’ Kit called Secret Garden that I had in my cupboard just waiting to be used. And even though you can’t get this Simply Scrappin’ Kit any more, I know that you could do the same thing with any of Stampin’ Up!’s Simply Scrappin’ Kits!

The notebooks and pencils I were super easy to cover using the card, DSP and stickers in the kit and I just bagged them up and finished them off with a matching Top Note Die bag topper.

Christmas Stars

As I mentioned earlier, I am making things for James’ kindy’s Christmas stall. Each year, mums from the kindy make things so that the kids can buy presents for their family and to help fundraise for the next year. So I have been trying to come up with some cute ideas for things to make that they could sell cheaply to the kids.

So here are my Christmas stars. I used Stampin’ Up!’s large star punch and just punched out 4 of them and then folded them in half and stuck them together. I glitzed them up by using Kindyglitz along the edges and used some glittery string to hang them.

They were super easy to make and I have plans for some baubles in the next week or so!!

Card Kits

Over the next few weeks I will be showing you some of the projects I have been making for my son’s kindy’s Christmas stall. My first project are Emergency Card Kits. I have a huge supply of cards that I have made for demonstrations and classes and swaps….so I have bundled them up and made a wallet to put them in. These will make great gifts for any member of the family!

001 (2) Here are all of them….I made 2 of each flower.

003 This is my rose made with the new Fancy Flower punch that will be in the new catalogue out in September!!

006 (3)

This flower is made by punching 2 Five Petal Flower Punches and then curling the petals up. I added a small circle punch in the centre and finished it off with a clear rhinestone brad.

The boxes all have a 3D flower on it and are tied with a ribbon. I had lots of fun making the flowers- the add a pretty finishing touch to the boxes.

Let me know if you have any questions!!

Cake Anyone???

This month for my class we made a cake! Yes, you are reading right- a cake!! But not any normal cake!!

I was blog hopping one day when I discovered Kay Sha and her fantastic blog!! I was so impressed by her cakes, that I bought her tutorial and made my first cake slice!! It was so super easy that I made 12 pieces to make a big cake and used it as a display at the Scrapbook Expo in June!!

001

So here it is!! Isn’t it pretty??

The only difference with my cake is the flower! When I started to make the flower, I realised that I couldn’t make it like Kay did because we didn’t have the large flower punch that she used! So I adapted it to a punch that we did have- the 5 Petal Flower Punch.  It makes a spikier flower ( I think it looks like a gardenia) that is a bit smaller!! I made my flowers the same way using my small oval punch.

A big thank you to Kay for her amazing talent in designing this project!!

New Toys!!

So I know that many of you are anxiously waiting for the 1st September when we will get our new catalogue!! Can I be a bit mean and tell you THAT I HAVE ONE!!!! I just love it and the advantage of being a demonstrator is that I was able to order some of the products that are in the new catalogue! I was very excited on Friday when the postman delivered my box of goodies and was disappointed that I had to go out for dinner but I got up on Saturday morning and made this card!! Now the vintage trend is not really my thing but I decided to try my hand at making a vintage inspired card.

RHR Walllpaper

I have used the new Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder on Riding Hood Red cardstock to create my background. I then sponged over the raised parts with Whisper White craft ink….it looks almost velvety in real life. I then made a paper rose using the new Fancy Flower punch out of the new Newsprint DSP which I sponged in Riding Hood Red ink. I then tried my hand at folding some ribbon to complete the project…it wasn’t as hard as I thought. I finished off the card with a greeting from the stamp set 3 Little Words.

I will bring you some more projects in the next couple of days using some of the other new goodies I have!!

Andy’s Birthday

My nephew Alexander (AKA Andy) turned 19 on Friday and trying to figure what a 19 year old boy would like was quite difficult…so I took the easy route and gave him money.

Andy's 19th

I decided that I needed something a bit different to put his money in so I made him a pocket card.  The front pocket had a little envelope that I stamped on and the back pocket had a card that I wrote on!!

Products Used!!

Stamps:  Circle Circus, Perfect Punches Card: Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White Parisian Breeze DSP (retired) Ink: Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip Accessories: Circle Punches, Wide Oval Punch
