New Toys

I just recieved some new "toys" from SU and have been experimenting with them. Both of these cards use the similar colour schemes- Ballet Blue, Regal Rose, So Saffron. The only difference in them is the greens- the Garden Whimsy card uses Green Galore and the Wanted card uses Always Artichoke.

I coloured this image using markers and cut it out using the new Scallop punch from SU. This is the first time I have done this and it was really easy.
I used my new mat pack (don't know how I loved without this for so long LOL)in opposite corners and the rock and roll technique to give the butterfly a multi-coloured look.

I am very pleased how these 2 cards have turned out and can't wait to send them off!

Berry Bliss

I just adore the new DSP from SU. These three cards were made using the Berry Bliss DSP, Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa and Purely Pomegranate CS.I got the inspiration for the "Hello" card from my upline Kim. I added sparkle to each of the cards- not that you can see it LOL. They were super easy to make and only took about 30mins to make .

I also used the new Chocolate Chip taffeta ribbon.

Like Mother... Like Daughter

This afternoon, I was sitting down at my newly-cleaned desk and thought I would do some water-colouring practice. Even though it is now retired, I simply love the set Seaside Sketches. I got out watercolour paper and my ink pads and my aqua painter and tried to remember all the things they told us at Convention. I must say I am very happy with the end result.

After I finished my picture, my DD came in and said she wanted to make a picture too. So stamped another image on plain white card and gave her some colouring in pencils. Of course, she wanted to use similar colours to my card and this is her end result. Now of course I am a proud mummy, but I think she has done a fantastic job considering she is only 5 years old.

Project Recipe:
Chrissie's card-
Stamps: Seaside Sketches, Wonderful Words
Cardstock: SU watercolour paper, Soft Sky, Regal Rose, Old Olive
Ink: Stazon, Regal Rose, Old Olive, Perfect Plum, So Saffron, Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery
Hayley's Card-
Stamps: Seaside Sketches, Wonderful Words
Cardstock: White, unknown pink, blue and aqua card
Accessories: colouring-in pencils, pale blue satin ribbon

Work.... work... work

Well the last 2 weeks have just been flat out for me at work. I am the school's music co-ordinator and am responsible for the school's music program- including our instrumental program. Today, we had a special parade to commemorate ANZAC Day. The Student Council ran the parade, explaining to everyone what ANZAC Day means. Our school's Senior Band, and both the Senior and Junior Choirs sang. So, I have spent every spare moment at school rehearsing with each of the groups...on top of my full teaching load! Man am I tired! But it was worth it.The parade was a very moving ceremony and our special guests were touched. The children sang beautifully and the band played the best they ever had! All in all... a great day!

Congratulations Kim

My upline, Kim was acknowledged for her hard work and dedication to Stampin' Up! last night at the Awards Dinner at Convention. She recieved recognition for her sales and recruiting efforts. I am in awe of her recruiting efforts as she shared 2nd place for the most recruits in the year- 17!!! (Yep, I was one of them!!!) She has also earned a place on the Incentive Trip to Palm Cove and was placed 13 in the Top 25 Demonstrators for the Year! I am so pleased for her and am proud to be a member of her Inkcredibles Team!
Way to go Kimmy!!

Here are just some of her team- the ones who were able to make it to Convention this year!

Meeting Shelli

Today I got to meet Shelli Gardiner.

Now of course I was more excited about this than my DH. And while my sister Nelly was excited for me, I think that she too thinks I am a bit of a loony for my excitement! LOL Shelli very graciouly agreed to have her photo taken with me. She even commented on my top- she "loved, loved, loved it!" All in all, it was great to listen to Shelli and watch her create some projects at Convention today.

Convention

.
So today was the start of Stampin' Up!'s 2nd Annual Convention and it just happened to be in my home town of Brisbane. This was my first Convention and I was so excited last night that I couldn't go to sleep for ages! I must say that I had a GREAT day! We started off by registering and getting our goody bags.In the bags were 2 new stamp sets, a new catty and the stuff we would need for our make and takes
These are the makes and takes we made today! We made a scrapbook page, a card and a little gift box. I had a lot of fun making these and I am pleased with how they have turned out

Swaps were made by everyone throughout the day! Here are some of the swaps I got today!

Then we had a session with Shelli, Aaron and some Workshop Wows!
Shelli Gardiner is a very inspiring woman. I listened to her talk about this company she built from scratch and how her dreams had grown and developed into the incredible company that is Stampin' Up! I think that I could listen to her talk all day and she makes me want to go out there and conquer the world! So beware! I am a woman on a mission to find recruits and to increase the number of opportunities to share my love of papercrafts with the world! LOL!

Tomorrow Convention continues ending with the Awards dinner! I will keep you posted with more Convention news of Sunday!!

Cheers
Chrissie

Milestones

Wow I can't believe it! Over 1000 people have visited my blog. And I only just started keeping a counter this year!!
When I first started my blog last year (another wow moment... I have managed to keep my blog going for over a year! Who'd have thought it?!!) it was a way to keep me sane as I prepared to take 10 months off work. It was the first time in 18 years I had not gotten up to go to work every day. I would be staying at home to look after my 2 beautiful children. I was not sure I knew how to stay at home and not go round the twist. I wanted a place to share my creativity, to be Chrissie and not Mummy.
It is amazing what a year has brought. I am now a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and am back working full time.
Thank you to all of you who read my blog (or who just look at the pictures), leave comments and who are inspired by my work.

Card Swap

This is my second card swap at my upline Kim's forum. There was 5 of us in each swap. These are the four fabulous designs sent to me from Hannah, Susie, Nardi and Susan. I made them up last night when the kids were in bed. I love how different each card is and how a little of each of the ladies personalities are in their card. Thank you everyone.

This is the card that I sent as part of the swap. The only difference ti the colours used. Sadly I cannot remember what colours I changed it to... (sad that the mind is going in one so young LOL) but I will let you know.

My New Banner

So last week I was at my sister's house (and she is a bit of an over-achiever LOL) and I asked her to make me a new banner for my blog. She has never done this before but she has done a fabulous job on it. I am sure I could have done it but who has the time... I am flat posting on my blog once a week! It took her about 10 minutes and after a few fine tuning here it is! So THANK YOU VERY MUCH SIS!!!!
