Report Cards

It is that time of year when teachers all across the state are writing report cards. It is a huge task for me as I teach over 800 children each week and I have to report on over 730 of them. As you can imagine, the sheer number of them makes it a time consuming job... leaving very little time for card making. I will be back in a few days... I will have to to keep my sanity! LOL!

Swaps Part 2

Here are the other 5 swaps I made for Convention.

This is a fabulous st for the men in our lives. I saw this idea on SCS but I now can't find where. (Isn't it always the way??)

Stamps: Totally Tools, Polka Dot
Inks: Basic Brown, Basic Black
Paper: More Mustard, Ruby Red, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Accessories: Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun, Sahara Sand, Going Grey Markers

This is a very simple card but it is very effective. I usually have a lot of trouble tying a bow with the wide ribbon but tying a simple knot in the middle was easy!

Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes, Sanded
Inks: Night of Navy, Brocade Blue, Versamark
Paper: Night of Navy, Brocade Blue, Whisper White
Accessories: Brocade Blue 5/8" Ribbon, Word Window Punch, Large Oval Punch

I love this Hostess set! It is just so versatile. I also love how the red pops out of the grey backgrounds.

Stamps: Live Like You Mean It
Inks: Basic Grey, Real Red
Paper: Basic Grey, Whisper White, Basic Black
Accessories: Red Gingham Ribbon, Scallop Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch

This is my absolute favourite set right now. There is just soooo mcuh you can do with it. You can use any colour combination and it just works! For the ribbon in the middle, I again used the faux suede technique and I also made the faux brads for this card too!

Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral
Inks: Baja Breeze, Sahara Sand
Paper: Kraft, Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, Close to Cocoa
Accessories: 1/4" circle punch, Crystal Effects

For this card, I definitely got my inspiration from SCS. There are many talented ladies who have made cards just like this and I thank you all. To make the reeds, I used the Horizontal Slot punch. It is just so easy and it finished off the card beautifully.

Stamps: Inspired by Nature
Inks: Kiwi Kiss, Always Artichoke
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Always Artichoke, Confetti Cream
Accessories: Always Artichoke Ribbon, Horizontal Slot Punch

Well I hope you like my cards! I had a lot of fun making them and I got some great cards back in return.

Cheers

Better Late than Never

I know.. you all thought I had fallen off the face of the earth! Fear not! I have been busy with school, kids and stamping!
I thought tonight I would show you the swaps I made for Convention. I made 10 different designs and made 10 of each design. Here are the first 5!

I have had a few blocks with this set. I didn't seem to like anything I made with it. For this set, I used Night of Navy and Kraft carstock and some absolutely delicious Bella Bleu DSP. The Kraft strip in the middle, I used the Faux Suede look- something that is not that easy with such a skinny strip.

Stamps:Flight of the Butterfly
Inks: Sahara Sand, Not Quite Navy
Paper: Kraft, Not Quite Navy, Bella Bleu DSP
Accessories: Word Window Punch, Dimentionals

This is another set that I struggled a bit with. But I was really pleased how it turned out. The "brads" aren't brads though... I punched out 1/4" circles and then covered them with crystal effects. It is a cheap way to use the brad look!

Stamps:Cheep Talk
Inks: Rose Red, Elegant Eggplant, Taken with Teal
Paper: Whisper White, Elegant Eggplant, Rose Red, Taken with Teal
Accessories: 1/4" circle punch, Crystal Effects, Eyelet Border Punch

I love this set! It is just a great set for all birthdays. For this card I used Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red and Pink Piroette. I have also used the Cupcakes wheel to decorate the bottom of the card.

Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes, Cupcakes Wheel
Ink:Black Stazon, Riding Hood Red, Pink Piroette, Chocolate Chip, Going Grey
Paper:Whisper White, Pink Piroette, Chocolate Chip
Accessories:Blender Pens, Crystal Effects

This is such a versatile set. And soooo reasonably priced! It was a quick and easy card to make and I had the 10 made in no time at all!

Stamps: Bitty Birthday, Polka Dot
Ink: Black Stazon
Paper: Whisper White, Cameo Coral, Brocade Blue, So Saffron
Accessories: Cameo Coral, Brocade Bleu and So Saffron Markers, Square Scallop Punch

I got my inspiration for this card from my cyber friend Nerine. She made this card and I just loved it so much that I had to use the great idea!

Stamps: Embrace Life
Inks: Summer Sun, Tangerine Tango, Pixie Pink
Paper: Summer Sun, Tangerine Tango, Pixie Pink, Whisper White

I hope that you like my swaps. I will be posting the other 5 cards in the nextfew days!
Cheers

I Went to Convention!!!

I have just returned home after 4 days in Canberra attending Stampin' Up!'s annual Convention! AND I HAD A BLAST!!!

We got up very early on the first day and arrived at Registration at 7am. Yes you are reading it correctly... I think we were the first people there! We got our very cool Convention bags and then headed to Momento Mall. I went absolutely beserk! There was just sooooo much that I LOVED and just had to HAVE!! I bought a beautiful Chocolate Chip cardigan and Certainly Celery shirt! They fit fabulously and I can't wait to have my next funtion so I can wear one of them!! I also got a fabulous new umbrella and a drink bottle and some pens and a paper sampler.....

Our first session was at the main stage. It looked very pretty.

Shelli did the first session, telling us about SU's home office. She is such a beautiful, elegant woman who really loves her company and all who work for her. Aaron Scott spoke to us on how the company is growing in Australia and New Zealand and Shannon West did some demonstrations using the Bella Rose Style Watch. In the afternoon we had classes on Investing Wisely in our business, Spreading the Word about our business and then the Make and Takes. They were very informative and I am going to change the way I approach my business. I have even started to make some of these changes!!

Here is my upline Kim and my roomy, Jenny. (Thanks for making it a fabulous Convention girls!!)

The second day started with 3 more classes on Recruiting and Workshop presentations. These sessions were again great and I got sooo much out of each of them. The afternoon session was again a whole group session of Workshop Wows and a look into the New Zealand part of the company. Then it was home for a shower and to get all gussied up for the award's dinner. I did not get to walk across the stage this year but I plan on definately doing it next year!

And here I am with the beautiful Di Barnes! Di and I have been chatting in cyberspace for ages now so it was great to meet her!

Convention, like last year, has motivated me big time! I have lots of ideas and plans and I am making small steps to put them in place!

Cheers
