It is my DS's 3rd Birthday tomorrow (26th July). I can't beleive where the time has gone. It just seems like yesterday that he was born.
I have made this card for his birthday. He loves animals and making the noises that go along with them. I saw this card on SCS by Busy Becca Bee and I just had to make it for him!
I have used Black Stazon, Whisper White craft, Wild Wasabi, Gable Green, Green Galore and Certainly Celery ink. It is made on a Certainly Celery card base and I have used Apple Green ribbon (retired).

Look What the Mailman Brought
I received a lovely card in the mail today from Nerine. I had given Nerine some ribbing when her order from SU was taking its time to get to the Northern Territory. So today she sent me a lovely card using the set that she had been anxiously waiting for: Tart and Tangy and the Summer Picnic DSP.
Thanks Nerine! It is just lovely to get a beautiful card in the mail instead of horrible bills! LOL

Tart and Tangy
Tonight I had a play with my new set that will be available in the Spring Mini from the 1st August. It is called Tart and Tangy. I also used the So Many Sayings HOstess set for the words.I decided that I would use colours from the Bold Brights family as they are not colours I am drawn to.
The colours used here are Yo-yo Yellow and Only Orange.
I used Real Red and Gable Green. Not sure I like the colour combo but I love the card.
Love these 2 colours... Real Red and Green Galore.
Again not too sure of this colour combo... Pink Passion and Glorious Green. It is growing on me though!
I want to thank Angie from Chic'n Scratch for the inspiration for the card design. I have changed the stamp set, the colours and added a little to it but the design is hers! Thanks again!

Two More
Ok.. on a roll.. cleaned up my desk today..I couldn't see the top of the table for card making stuff! My DD also had a birthday party tomorrow and she was demanding I make a card... so it just had to be done!
My DD picked the Bold Butterfly set for her friend and I added the birthday wishes stamp from the For a Friend Hostess set. I had made this card before using Summer Sun and Rose Red so she wanted me to make it again but this time in pink and purple. I used Pink Passion and Almost Amethyst ink, Almost Amethyst DSP, Pink Passion and Whisper White cardstock. I used the Rock and Roll technique on the solid butterfly shapes.
This second card is litterally made of scraps from my desk. I am loath to throw out anything as I think that I could use it on a card at another time. I had coloured the flowers from Oh So Lovely Hostess set a few weeks ago and they were patiently waiting for me to make something with them. I also had a scrap of Old Olive DSP that was just the right size. I used little strips of Groovy Guava cardstock to edge the flowers and stamped the "Thinking of You" from for a friend in Guava too. It is going to a friend of mine that I haven't heard from in a while. I hope she likes it.

A Couple of Cards
I have been a bit slack lately... I made a card for my DH's birthday last month and I have yet to put it on my blog. I used the Wanted set, the Wonderful Favourites set and the Outlaw DSP. It is also the first card that I have made using the new jumbo eyelets. He loved the card!!
This second card was made using the Oh So Lovely Hostess set and the Polka Dots Background stamp. I loooove this format of using the spiral punch to make "photo" slides. I have used Wild Wasabi and Groovy Guava cardsock and ink.

More Layouts
Here are a few more 6x6 scrap pages I have completed in the last few days!
This is my favourite photo of my babies! (not that they are babies any more LOL). It was taken at the airport earlier this year.
Sorry about the photo...
I call this photo is my DD's supermodel photo! She is just beautiful!!!! AT the retreat I went on in May... my upline Kim showed us how to colour black and white photos.

An Award
My friend Susan has honoured me with a brilliant weblog award. And while I don't feel I deserve it but I am thrilled to receive it! Thank you Susan!
I am going to pass this award on to three ladies that inspire me.
Nerine for her simple elegance in cardmaking.
Diane for the great ways she takes a simple idea and shows me how to use it many ways!
Kim because she is not only the best upline ever! but also a great cardmaker!
Congratulations!!
Cheers
Chrissie
To Resist is Impossible!
Now I know I said that I would post all the cards and 3D projects I have been making... and so far I haven't but.... it's school holidays! I have had my two darling children home with me and not much has been done!
I am working on my next class that I will be offering at the end of July. I will teaching three different techniques in resist- wax, crayon and emboss. I also wanted to use some of the things in my stash that I haven't used in quite a while (or ever LOL)
This is my first attempt at wax resist. I followed this tutorial from SCS. I am very pleased with the results and it was soooo easy. I have used Always Artichoke and Elegant Eggplant as my colour combo.
My second card uses the crayon resist technique. I just love this technique as it is very easy but very effective. The colour combo I used is Pale Plum and Orchid Opulence.
My last card was made using the embossed technique. I have used the new In Colours of Wild Wasabi and Groovy Guava.
I have had fun making these cards... I am going to make a few colour changes for my class but I am sure everyone will have fun making them too!
Cheers,
Chrissie
