A Wonderful Afternoon

Yesterday I had a workshop with some lovely ladies. The hostess had asked to make some projects using punches and dies, so I designed these 2 projects so that they could see the versatility of Stampin’ Up!’s dies and punches.

The Blushing Bride box is made using 2 milk carton dies that are trimmed and joined together. We then made some tulips using the 5 petal punch and the build-a-bird die and put them on Peach Parfait cardstock that had been run through the polka dot embossing folder.

The card me made used Wild Wasabi, Poppy Parade and Very Vanilla. The rose on the card is made using the build-a-owl punch, large scallop circle punch and 5 petal flower punch.

I look forward to having another creative day with the ladies again soon.

Happy Birthday

In February, one of my nephews and one of my nieces have a birthday within a few weeks of each other. My nephew Cameron turned 15 and my niece Lauren turned 17 so I made them a card each using some of the new things I had purchased over the holidays.

006

For Cameron’s card I used the zebra out of Zoo Review. I stamped it in black and then used my blender pens to add some colour. I then tore some Basic Black strips to make the stripes for the background. I added a little bit of colour by matting it in Cajun Craze.

For my niece, I used the SAB paper, chipboard butterfly and tulip border embossing folder to create a vintage card. I sponged the edges with Crumb Cake to add to the aged look and finished it off with some Riding Hood Red ribbon that I ruffled.

I really loved how they they both turned out.

Pretty Roses

Firstly let me apologise for my absence of late. Life with a busy family seems to have taken over! I hope to have lots of projects to share with you over the next few days so stay tuned!

For the last 3 months I have been helping my friend Jan to make her wedding invitations and Bomboniere boxes. We had a great time spending time together creating the perfect look.

When the time for her wedding came, I made her a card and gift folder in the same colours. I used Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla with just a little hint of Pear Pizzazz. I have to say how happy I was with the finished product. I am a sucker for rolled roses and how they create a vintage feel to most projects…and they are quite therapeutic to make.

Year of Cards January

I know that I have been absent for a long time…life has got in the way it seems.

But I am back with my Year of Cards. So what is Year of Cards? Each month I will teach you how to make 4 cards around a theme.

So January’s theme was Ladies!

And here they are! The four cards are really different but still really girly! Each uses a different technique and colour combination.

Let me know if you would like to join me for one of my classes each month…February is Male cards and March is EAster cards!!
